Who is Funding the Robo-Calls?

Last night I received numerous e-mails from folks in New Jersey, each of whom who received a very curious phone call.

It was a robo-call…the kind that usually disturbs supper or post-supper relaxation days before a crucial election. However, this particular robo-call didn’t feature a canned mini-speech from a candidate for office…it asked the listener to make a choice.

Tea Party groups are publishing racist pictures of President Obama. Press 1 if you believe it is OK to publish rascists pictures or Press 2 is you think it is NOT OK.

NJGOP State Committeeman Rob Eichmann or a cohort (Wee Willy Winkler?) appears to be the impetus behind this obnoxious phone campaign. Hopefully whoever is responsible will have the sense not to publish the results now that this charade has been outed.

The big question: who funded this robo-call campaign? Was it Eichmann? Winkler? Doherty? Could it have been Steve Lonegan?

Then again…Eichmann is a member of the Republican State Committee.  Do we dare think it possible that the state GOP is behind this campaign to destroy the Tea Party movement in New Jersey?
