The best way I can think of to describe this site is for me to explain what it is NOT: Bulldog Pundit is NOT an advocacy site that takes up the cause of a particular person, political party or even political philosophy. I’m not here to save the the Republican Party, the Conservative Cause, the republic itself or Western Civilization. I’m just one man who threw in his lot for the Cause back in 2009 and can show you the scars to prove it. I gave at the office – as well as in the home and on the ideological battlefield. I did my part for candidates and Tea Parties and rallies and protests and all the folderal that goes with these things.

And I have done with all of it. This is not to say that I have soured on the Cause or somehow been seduced by the Dark Side. Far from it: I am as conservative a fellow as you can ever hope (or dread) to meet and I continue to cheer for the eventual triumph of Movement Conservatism over the forces of Liberal Statism.

But I’ve shed enough blood, sweat and tears to fill a small lake – and have yet to receive a single check from the Koch Brothers for my efforts. At this point I’m reminded of a sage observation made by none other than Billy Joel:

I believe I’ve passed the age of consciousness & righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too, I had my pointless point of view,
Life went on no matter who was wrong or right…

This old bulldog now finds himself back on the porch – where he can survey the field of battle and comment accordingly.

In that spirit of impartial observation, Bulldog Pundit is dedicated to pursuing the Truth – however ugly or uncomfortable it may be – and proclaiming it to all who can bear to hear it. Some will shrink and cower with their hands over their ears as they shriek their emphatic denials. Others will calmly deny what their own eyes and ears tell them as they pursue their fantasy of a world as they think it should be. A dedicated minority will heap all manner of opprobrium on the messenger.

The thoughtful observer will consider what has been presented, weigh it in the intellectual balance and come away that much stronger for the conversation.

    Hi Manly/Gene,

I’m glad I found you again. I always enjoy your writing.

Remember, it took us 100+ years to get where we are today and will probably take a generation (or more) to restore our great republic.

    All the Best,
