In a session convened in Red Bank, New Jersey on March 2, 2013 the attending delegations of the American Tea Party Congress unanimously adopted a Charter and a set of operational By-Laws. On March 10 the Charter was formally and officially ratified; it acquired the force of law at 12:01 today while the By-Laws will take effect at 12:01 AM on March 12.

The ATPC Charter embodies a concept for Tea Party unity superior to anything attempted thus far because it puts the constituent groups in complete control of an organization that, for all practical purposes, is their agent. The President, Chairman and other officers of the ATPC serve entirely at the pleasure of a Board comprised of Representatives from each of the member Tea Party and conservative groups. The officers of the ATPC do what the Board tells them to do – not the other way around.
This bottom-up, grassroots-control arrangement can be seen clearly in the schematic diagram of the ATPC organization below:Although most Tea Party organizations share the same basic ideology of limited government, lower taxes, less spending and greater liberty, they exist as localized entities whose effective reach does not go very far beyond the municipality or county in which they are headquartered. In this divided state of existence, each can be isolated and marginalized by an Establishment that is determined to see them become extinct. I don’t think I need to remind the reader that Establishment leaders such as Karl Rove and John Boehner have declared war on the Tea Party movement.
The time has come for Tea Party organizations in the Garden State and throughout our imperiled nation that have no intention of bending their knee to the Statist Ruling Class to take the next step in the evolution of the Tea Party movement: UNITE.
On behalf of the American Tea Party Congress, I implore all Tea Party and conservative organizations to consider how much more powerful the effort to restore liberty would become if they joined the ATPC and lent their voices to an ever-growing chorus that has drawn a line in the sand and declared to those who would eviscerate the Constitution, trample our liberty and destroy our prosperity: THIS FAR…AND NO FARTHER!
